I was very surprized when I weighed my 05 F350 SRW 4x4 CC LB V10 and it weighs a little over 7400 pounds with me, 190 pounds, and a full tank. My 04 F350 SRW 4X4 CC SB PSD only weighed 7200 pounds with me and a full tank (smaller on SB). I have been pounding down the beer lately but I realized something else has changed. Both these trucks are Lariats with the same options almost and the PSD at 1000 and something pounds is a full 400 pounds heavier than our V10s ,another example of good things really do come in small packages. I can just feel the diesel boys hair coming up on their backs, remember I used to be a diesel boy. On the serious side I downloaded a comparison between the 04 and 05 CC 4x4 SRW LB that shows the weight difference between the two models. This information shows these trucks with a V8 gasser and no options. The 04 F350 4X4 CC SRW curb weight is 6404 pounds and the same truck in 05 is 6730 pounds so Ford had to put another 326 pounds into these pickups to get the big increase in GVWs. My model went from 9900 to 11200 which is a 1300 pound GVW increase minus that extra front end and frame weight of 326 lb and you still pick up a payload increase of 974 pounds, not too shabby but it does show you there is no free lunch and all good things have a price. I have the front and rear weights of both these trucks and 197 pounds of this difference of weight is on the front axle so the coils are heavier than the leafs, not what I would have thought.
