There will probably be one at the nationals in Knoxville. They usually have those kind of parts. If you want to go new Dan Carpenter in North Carolina.
Try Bruce Horkey Wood And Parts. I Think He's On The Web. He Has A Field Of Trucks And Sells Used Parts As Well As Some New. I Have A 55f-250 And Thought I Was Going To Have The Same Problem. Fortunately, I Found The Previous Owner Still Had The Tailgate And Original Hub Caps And Wheels. I Gought It From Him For $60. He Gave The Truck Up To An Auction For The Veterans And I Bought It From There. If Bruce Doesn't Have One, Try Flashback F-100's In North Carolina.
I don't know if I have what you are looking for but my gate does not fit my 55 F-100. I was just on Obsolete's web site and they had this:
Obsolete Ford Truck Parts
1953/1972 Ford F250/F350 tailgate. Used. No holes. No rot, not twisted. Has some surface rust. Has some small dents. Fits long-box step-side only. Measures approximately 55" x 21". $300.00 Cdn.
Mine is in fair condition. Dimensions on it are 50 1/2 X 21 though. I don't know if it was modified to fit my truck or not. No rot out but the outside has some dents and inside is also dented, mostly on the outside face ends. Bottom and top tube are pretty straight. I'll try to get you some pics. Let me know if you are interested.
