Thumbs up Look at this huge rig!!!!

The owner of one of the local stereo shops just bought this International truck the other day. I could not believe how big this thing is it is the biggest pick-up you can buy. But I have to say I like it. I guess you can drive it with a normal operators licence. Check it

I couldn't move for a few minutes after seeing that truck. That thing is friggin awesome. Don't stand a chance in heck of getting one, but man...

Grownd clearance is sweeet and I'll bet the mileage is fractional.

I guess I'm merely shocked that someone would actually buy that as a pickup, Same boneheads who buy H2 Hummers (the twice-as-ugly, twice-as-expensive Tahoe), I guess.

Sticking a pickup bed on a medium truck just struck me as a mild joke. Folks buy those rigs as 5th wheel pullers, and they're good for it. I have specified, driven home, and later used in service, EHD rescue ambulances on the International medium chassis. At the time (1991 and 1995) it was called the 4700 LP (as in Low Profile), and one of them used the DT360 High Torque at 185 HP, ahead of an Allison MT543. The other used the DT466 at 250 HP ahead of the Allison New World trans. Much better.

That International makes a snazzy monster pickup. As long as they keep the GVWR under 26,000 and use the hydraulic brake boost option instead of air, you don't need a CDL to drive it. Buying it AS a pickup is a bit silly. But if you need trailer puller that can carry a little bit of gear along with the 5th wheel or gooseneck hitch, and still fit a family or a crew inside, it's the hot ticket.

Fully loaded, it's 115 grand, but you could prolly get into a stripped model for under $100K. Wonder what the payments would be.....

You could sell your house, buy the rig and a trailer, and make money by using the rig to haul stuff, and live all over. Water tight the whole job and you got a boat with no propeller. Solve that and its a go anywhere machine.

A stock 5th wheel or goose neck is out of the question.
Truck dimensions:
Overall length – 257 1/2"
Cab height – 108 1/4"
Standard bed length – 96"
Ground to bed floor – 57 1/2"
Ground to top of bed side – 77"
I doubt your gonna lift your 5th wheel to accomodate that. And it has Air brakes. And a two speed transfer case. Oh ya it's 4x4, On-Command All-Wheel Drive.

From: Destin/Ft. Walton Beach,
It is big, that's for sure. Not the biggest though. No photo yet, but I see a new F550 pickup 2 or 3 days a week. It's black, and when I first came up behind it, I thought it was a big 4 wheel drive sitting on a roll back wrecker. Got up beside it, and my jaw dropped. The freakin thing is HUGE. I have no idea how much it costs.

Those Ford F650's were pretty cool. Think I could talk the wife into letting me get one?

Wow, those Fords look cool! Pointless to make a pickup heavier than one ton, but wild looking nonetheless.

I didn't realize that Cornbinder was so tall. I've seen a number of folks using the earlier 2WD version of that chassis to pull 5th wheels. The Freightliner FL60 chassis is also popular for that.

Oh well, like the mattracks conversion, if someone will buy it, someone will make it.

I was looking through the specs of that beast, and I was surprised to see it'll only tow 12,000 lbs. Yes, 12,000 lbs is a lot of stuff, but for a medium duty truck like that?

I bet that more than 12000 lbs in tow would put it over 26000 lbs, and thus need a CDL to drive it. I wonder what it'll really tow with a CDL driver?

Here's an option should one have the need for more hauling capacity. Watch your step as you ascend/descend the ladder located behing the left front tire.
