weight compare

does anyone has a clue to how much a 78 f150 460 weighs? (lwb). and how much lighter is a f100 (swb)? i just need an estimate on the wieght differences.

My 77 F150 460/C6 weighs 4480 according to the recycling yard scale. That's with 1/4 tank of gas.

I have 77 F150, 460, AUto, A/C, all options, long bed and it weighed right at 4500 on the junkyard scales. I have 77 F-250, with no options, 400, T-18 4-speed, Dana 61 rear and it weighs about the same. The short bed is only going to be lighter based on the lack of options and the 2 feet of frame and bed that it does not have.

Weight...

I have a 78 F150, C6, 460 SuperCab, Trailer Special. With my tools/ stuff in it (200 lbs?) and myself and 1/2 tank each tank it weighs 4900lbs.

i cant speak for him on his setup, but, i test drove a 01 F-150 with the triton V8(whatever that is) and i was not impressed whatsoever, it wouldnt even hold a candle to my highmileage 460 in my 76 F-150.

Of course i guess im just spoiled by that "throw you back in your seat" torque my 460 is blessed with.What can i say, im a torquaholic.....
