94 Bronco E40D tranny woes...

Since this site has stated that I haven't posted in over 2 weeks, I'll post a little somethin'. Last Thursday, my entire truck started shuddering while accerating up a hill. Got on this site, did a search and narrowed it down to a possible bad torque converter. Took it to my mechanic, went for a test drive and he also said that it was the TC. Right now, my truck is waiting for it's tranny to be removed, sent out to be fixed and reinstalled. I also found out on this site that there could be a heavy duty TC available for my truck. Called my mechanic with this info and he stated that he was already going to do that. So now I have to wait till the end of the week to get my horse back.

Should of done it yourself, not too hard, and it would of saved you a bunch of money!

Yeah, I know if I did it myself I could save money, but I never messed with an automatic tranny, so I leave it to people who have.

Just got my '92 back from the transmission shop. The mechanic, at first, thought that my TC was bad. After a couple of days of troubleshooting, it turns out that the computer was bad. He replaced it and that did the trick. My Bronco runs like a new truck. It even idles better now and doesn't dies at stop lights.
