Idle Surge
My 99 V10 started to surge every 20 or 30 seconds as it warms up and when stopped in drive. Any thoughts. goes from 900 RPM to 1200+/- rpm. I pulled the codes and there were no to read. Thanks in advance for any reply.

Sometimes you can remove and clean them, sometimes they need replacing.
Have you got a maintenance manual of any kind? It's that domed part that sits just behind the throttle body.
Here's a real old thread - all I have handy at the moment:

Thanks for the advice and re-direct. I'll check it out tonight. How do you clean it or what do you clean it with. (Please don't say your hands...HAHA)
Thanks again in advance....

I took the IAC off and cleaned it with some carb cleaner the other night and now it has smoothed out and idles just fine, no more surging. Getting to the IAC and taking it off is a PITA alright!!! My wife comes out to the garage and just laughs at me cussing at the truck and sprawled all over the engine!!! HAHA.
I guess we bring it on our selves 'wrenching' on our own rigs....
Again thanks for the input.....

You might want to start putting a few pennies in a jar for a new one - but, hopefully, that's miles down the road.
