Straight mercon is what you should add. From what you have written you have the correct fluid in there. As long as you don't put Mercron V you are fine. Its hard to find straight Mercron but Dextron III / Mercron is ok.

Additionally, Mercon V / Mercon dual use fluid is not recommended in the 4R100 transmission. I use Mobil 1 synthetic (Mercon rated), cost 5 bucks per quart. Total flush will set you back about 100 bucks for a DYS job. Probably don't need to change the filter but every other flush.Takes about an hour to do the full system flush yourself. All you need is a 5 gallon bucket, 10' of 3/8" clear hose, 20 qts of ATF and a few wrenches. WallMart will take the waste oil. Good luck.
