weird vibrations
Ok let me see if i can explain this correctly whats weird, is this dont happen all the time. when traveling various speeds (1985 f-150 4x4 4.9) (400,000 on her clock)i hear a vibration . It feels like (not a bad vibration) when one pulls up to a stop sign -with the ridges in the road to let u know to stop (asphalt indicators)(ridges). doesnt happen often and when it does _50 mile trip it may do it often or frequent . just changed the u joints checked the dope rear end----- any suggestions more than a sound than a bad vibration

When you changed the U-joints did you happen to pull the slip joint apart? If so, check the front and rear joints to make sure they are exactly aligned (timed) If it's off 1 spline it'll vibrate.

another possibility could be your diff, not exactly the same, but I had a bad vibration in my little toyota turned out after it went bang that a spider gear worked its way loose and dropped of smashing the diff

I'm having a bad vibration as well....Did any of you guys have it happen at a certain speed? Mine starts around 55 and gets worse the faster it goes. Drive shaft and U-joints are ok, tires are decent, wheel bearings in the front are good. Pushing in the clutch doesn't change it any either. Could it be the diff, even though its not leaking anywhere?
