starter question

recently swapped in a 79 c6 automatic into my 86 f150 4x4. i have a 302 with efi. my question pertains to the starter. can i use the same starter that i used with the 4 speed with the automatic.
naturally i had to change the flywheel plus a bunch of other stuff.

starter question

It should fit with no problems, as long as the flyplate is right for the engine.

starter question

When I swapped out my NP435 for my C-6 I had to use a different starter. I don't know if it was just the dust shield that made it not work or what, but it wouldn't fit. Fortunately I had the starter on hand and the only difference between the two was the length of the starter housing that cases the gear, it was longer. I can't remember which one was longer though, sorry. Well, hope that helps.
