Would anyone know if the range for the remote control key FOB is adjustable, or if there is an antenna in the vehicle that can be relocated?
I have tried changing the batteries, but the range for the F150 is nowhere near as far as that for my GMC van. The remote controls are almost identical.
You have to be almost next to the truck for it to work.
Where is the receiver located? Is this a warranty issue?
I had this problem with my garage door opener, and put a longer antenna on it and the remotes seem to work from a lot farther away.
Is the range affected by vehicles or structures close by, or is bad everywhere?
The module is under the drivers side dash attached to the firewall. Don't know if you can extend the antenna or if it even has one. Try putting the key fob against your chin, point to your truck and push the button. Sounds silly but it works.
