I drive 80 mi. a day round trip and im going to leave the stock 3.55 gears...I was looking into BF Goodrich 33x12.50r15 all terrains or something else around those lines...It will never see mud..It is a street queen...Please help lift is on and 29" tires look pretty funny...Thanks for you time and help!
yeah, ive got 33" general grabber at on my 1995 150. they're amazing on the road. super quiet and the ride is super smooth. they are an awesome choice if you want your truck to look cool without worrying about offroad. they're not bad offroad for the stuff ive done but they would never work in the hard stuff. and the best thing about them is the price. they're pretty cheap and they're amazing. i think general tire has stopped making their grabber AT tires and now they've got AT2, which im sure are just as good if not better than mine.
IMO 33" tires seem a little small for a 6" lift. ive got a 4" rancho lift on my truck and it easily fits the 33"s and it could still fit 35"s. so i would think a 6" lift would give you clearance for 35" or 37". anyways, good luck with the tire shopping. the generals are great!
For a 33" tire that doesn't weigh as much, maybe try a 33x9.50-15. With 3 inches less width, I'd imagine it would have to weigh less than a 33x12.50-15. Probably get better gas mileage with the thinner tread too.
Try finding a B rated (instead of C or D) tire as they have less material in them -- usually 4 ply vs. 6 or 8 ply. And get one with a ratio no less than 75.
Multi-Mile
Matrac STX
305/45VR22 (basically a 33x12x22)
Dunlop
Rover RVXT
33x12.5x15
Kelly
Safari AWR
Safari SJR
33x12.5x15
All these tires are more like a street tire then a truck tire in looks. The only one I have actually seen/used are the Kelly Safari tires. Street tread in a truck tire.
