4x4 Speeds

Hey guys, I was just curious, how fast do you guys with 4 wheel drives, drive in four wheel drive? I remember on a fewer of my older trucks, and my fathers old trucks, they said that a person shouldnt go over 60 kilometers an hour, max! Now I drive mostly in a city in 4x4 so I usually never hit these speeds, but just out of curiousity, what do some of you others hit?

There's no top speed limitation. Even my old '78 could run as fast as you like.

I've never heard of any speed limitations with any four wheel drive except for the fact that it just won't go as fast as 2WD because of extra weight and drivetrain drag.

Enjoy,
Doc

I can remember when 45 MILES per hour was the limit. Atleast thats what the owners manual said. I know my 92 Jeep whines like crazy above 50mph. But my 97 F150 dosen't seem to have a limit. Not that I've had it up to 100mph in 4wd, but I can't really tell the difference at 55-60 between 4wd and 2wd. Course thats in snow and ice. And the owners manual says nothing about speed, except something about being under 50 when shifting into 4wd.
