Upper Mastjacket Schematic Figure?
(No gear selector mechanism in the upper mast jacket of floor shifted trucks)
What I seek is a picture "break down" of above stering column assembly. On Mine, An internal, die cast, ring-like, part has broken. Starter position can not be engaged using key because cylinder & lock move before rod to buss type ignition switch moves fully to start position.
I can see pieces of broken ring/ collar between outer trim pieces of my mast jacket cover. Although I'm making it start with a jury rig deal now, I'd rather be able to lock my steering wheel & ignition & remove key from the cylinder.
I felt it snap when it broke the other day.
I hate to ask, but all my OEM Manuals, Books, & experience is for FoMoCo's 61-79 F series. This 88 is my shop truck and it's nothing like any of that stuff.
Although I'm slowly converting it into that. The 9" FoMoCo truck rear from a 77 F 150 is the best thing I've done to it, at least as good as eliminating the clutch safety switch, or going to an Aluminumn HD Cross flow radiator.
