Leaking Injector

I'm looking at a project truck to buy. It is a 1990 F-350 CC SRW with a 7.3 N/A automatic. When it is running, number one injector has a continuous pumping of fuel from its base where it goes into the head. In a matter of a few minutes, the valley pan is full of fuel. The owner has a set of replacement o-rings for all of the injectors. Could it be the o-ring causing that bad of a leak? One other thing, it idles rather nicely, then I step on it to about 2000 rpm let my foot right off of the throttle and it dies out. If I feather the throttle slightly after reving it up, it stays running. Could it be sucking air from the number one injector causing it to stall after I rev it up?

If the fuel is leaking from under the plastic cap on top of the injector, the o rings should cure the problem, but you should also install new plastic caps and fuel jumper lines on all the injectors. If the fuel is leaking where the injector screws into the head, there is another problem with the injector. Look carefully as to where the fuel is coming from. The fact that the engine is "stalling" is probably due to the leaking fuel situation, also letting air into the system.
