1991 gauges problems
i was just given a 1991 f-150 extended cab 4 wheel drive 302 ci pickup, it have dual tanks also. i have a problem with the fuel and temp gauge. when i fill up the truck the gauge goes to full, but as the tank gets empty the gauge stops at about three quarters, and thats where it stays until i fill it up again. the temp gauge does move, but very little, and sometimes back and forth.could it be the voltage regulator causing the gauges to fail. i dont have a computer for this thing yet.....but im sure i will be buying one. also the truck just started having problems with the idle, its starts okay, idles okay in park, throw it in gear and it revs to about 1500 rpms. it didnt do that when the temp outside was warm, it seems only in cold weather. any help........
