engine angle?

Hi there. I will be installing a 410 in my '64 in the spring. I'm planning to make my own engine crossmember and i will be getting motor mounts and frame mounts for the 410 but i'm not sure at what angle does the engine and tranny sit at? thanks!

When installed, the centerline of the crankshaft and transmission should point directly towards the differential yoke. The angle at the front universal, should be the same as the angle at the rear universal. Of course this is true only with a 1 piece driveshaft.

Take off the carb. Put a level on the flange. This will get the motor and trans at the factory angle which is ~ 4 deg at the crank centerline, but level on the manifold.

The factory angle has nothing to do with what is correct, if the height of the engine is changed. This is a custom engine install, with custom mounts. It isn't the engine angle that is important per say. It is the angle of the driveshaft compared to the angle of the universal joints. If not done correctly, you will have a vibration in the driveline.
