powerstroke need advaice

How much can I pay for a 1995 f250 with powerstroke problems (mayby bad injectors ) and bad E4OD transmission. Good shape 200 K miles.

Not much... If it happens to be a problem that will require replacing a head or the whole motor, they're expensive. Re-man heads are 500-600 a pop, and a short block is about 3800. Just a set of injectors is 1300 or so.

My 1997 e4od lasted 142,000. Expect to spend at least $2000 w/o labor.

Sounds like a winner! If you buddy up at a trans shop(send food) you can usually strike up a deal under 2k. The drivability is not too bad ... failed-injectors, the wiring leading to them, and the mechanical fuel pump are common repairs easily done. However a blown motor will make it more valuable as parts!!!
