`95 auto chatter
I'm affraid I'm in need of a rebuild. It's been getting gradually worse. At first it only chattered in OD while accelerating. Now it does it in any gear especially at lower rpm's. It's in an extended van behind a 4.0L and it's very bad timing as I'm in the middle of a 360 mile move. I need this van to help me finish and I don't have money for an overhaul. Any ideas?

Your chatter my not necessarily mean you need a rebuild. The engine miss firing has been known to cause sometimes serious vibrations especially while accelerating. If it's been a while since a tune up, you might want to check to see if this helps first.

I suspected something...
b2trausch, thanks for the reply. I've noticed a strange pulse from the exhaust that may be that bad miss. These V6's are still kind of new to me. I like the 4.0L. It still smokes alot of different vehicles at the lights, even with the chatter/miss thing going on.
