Oil temp sending unit
At start-up, the glow plugs on my 95 are staying on the max time no matter what the engine temp. From reading other post here, I suspect the oil temp sending unit is bad but I don't have a clue where it is located. Anybody know? Quad, I'm SURE you know where it is...

According to the Haynes manual, the oil temperature sensor is on the backside of the HPOP, near the filter bowl... Screws in and out, and they recommend sealing the threads on the new one with teflon tape.

Thanks Rancha. You must have a better version of the Haynes manual than I do. Mine doesn't show it anywhere. In fact it is just about worthless. I'll check for the sender at that location tomorrow. Thanks again...

This one covers deisel engines made by GM and Ford. Lots of generic B.S. along with useful things like how to check fluids and what basic tools you should have in your tool box etc. It talks a good bit about the pre 94.5 Ford desiels but it's like they don't know a whole lot about them after that...
