Just did a tune up now i have a problem.

I ordered one of those Accel tune up kits from Jegs, I installed the cap and rotor, plugs and wires. I then started it up and it ran perfect.

I when out latter that day got about a mile down the road and then something happened it felt like a tire was coming off. The motor was missing horribly, i figured that one of the wires had popped off. So i pulled over to check that out and found all the wired still on. Anyway with some trouble shooting back at the house found that the #1 plug went bad. A fricken new plug went out after a mile this is unbelievable.

Well i called Jegs and their going to overnight be a plug but it is just a pain in the butt.

Did you use the Accel plugs also?

I like Accel parts, but not the plugs. Accel plugs are just Nippondenso U-groove plugs with a pretty paint job.

I use Accel also(cap, rotor, wires) with some Motorcraft plugs.

Accel=trouble. I used to use them all the time on all my vehicles. Had lots of problems. Quit using them and all the problems went away. Many of my customers have had similar experiences.

Yes i used the U-groove plugs from Accel. I like the cab and rotor and the wires but the jury is still out on the plugs.

I only used one set of Accel plugs and the car would not idle very well and had no power. I put the old plugs back in and the truck ran great. The Accel wires lasted about 3 months (an expensive set) and cost me an "expensive" trip into a dealer to get the vehicle to run so I could get home and it ran very well after the new dealer wires. The store that sold them would not replace them or refund money on them because a dealer said they were bad wires.

I used Accel stuff for years and never had any issues. Their 300+ race plug wires worked great for 8+ years on a street strip truck. I used the U-Groove plugs, but found no difference in them. Autolites are cheap and just as good as any.

Sounds like you may want to switch over to the autolites anyway. I got some platinums for mine from wal mart for about fifteen dollars. Regular autolites will work just fine, but it seems you want more performance so maybe the platinums are up your alley, also you could look up some splitfire plugs. Both of these have warranties so you won't run into the problems of 5labsownus, and I can say that three generations of my family have yet to cash in an autolite warranty.
