I just fixed the problem that I had with my Pioneer 6600 head unit. The display would reverse the letter's color with the backround on and off every ten second period that it was inactive (not hitting any buttons). It was very annoying, especially at night when it lit up the inside of my cab. Well, when all else fails, read the directions. I did that after taking it out, blowing it out and making sure it looked ok. For some reason the head unit has a "reverse mode" where it will reverse the color and the backround. I simply read the manual and turned it off.
What is the purpose of the "reverse mode" on a head unit? I cannot think of one good reason for it. Just thought I would let you guys think about.
my guess is one you can see better in the day time and one is dimmer for the night time
