What kind and year of vehicle did it come from?
What engine was it attatched to?
Is it an auto or manual?
How many gears does it have?
If it is a manual, is the first gear a 'granny'/'creeper' or a regular first gear ratio?
If it's a manual, are all the gears synchronized or just 2nd on up?
Is high gear an overdrive or is it direct 1:1?
Is the case aluminum or iron?
Does it have a one-piece case and bellhousing or a seperate bellhousing?
If it is an auto, how many bolts does it have around the pan?
If it's a manual, where does the shifter come out at, top, side, rear?
Does it have a PTO access plate on it? If so, what side?
Are there any distinguishing markings on the tranny?
What is the shift pattern?
On the axle gears, look on the axle's differential cover for an information tag attatched to one of the cover bolts. The ratio will be listed there. If it doesn't have a tag, look for an axle code on the driver's door VIN/weight sticker. Post it and we will try to decode it for you. Any extra info you can give about the axle will help us identify it...
What kind of truck did it come from? What year?
Is it a full-floater or a semi-floater?
How many lugs does it have?
What is the GVWR of the truck it came from?
Does it have a bolt-on rear cover (Dana or Ford/Sterling/Visteon) or is the rear cover welded on and a removeable 3rd member housing attatched to the front of it (9" Ford)?
If it has a cover, how many bolts are around it?
Does the cover have a fill plug in it or is the fill plug in the axle housing? What shape is the cover?
Post up as many details as you can and we will try to help the best we can
