Why does the radio have "little or no sound"? Is it wired correctly? A line driver would probalby not help.

Wiring it correctly could. Considering the ohm load of the speakers in the new car could. (Most door speakers are four....but ive see 6 8 12, all kinds of BS thrown in cars by the manu.) Power handling of car a's vs b's spekaers could as well. Not enough info i guess.
