For parts I try to pickup locally as much as I can because of the shipping costs to Canada. Local truck spring shop should be able to suppy the springs and a discount parts house should be able to get the shocks. Check our sponsers for this web site and see what they offer for prices and shipping costs. You may have to go to them for the sway bars, locks and weather stripping. I am lucky to have a wrecker that has quite a few of the older Ford trucks so if I need door locks I get them there if I can find decent ones and have the locks rekeyed.

I got a complete weather stripping kit for jcwhitney. It work out pretty good. I had a little trouble with the trim in the windshield. Put the trim in the rubber, the rubber in the glass, then the glass in the truck. good luck.

Hey gFinch1050, is that JCW weatherstrip good quality? I think that will be my next move for my truck. I was going to get the whole set.

Get shocks from Summit.

You can get shocks from your local parts store.

Check with a spring shop for new or rebuilt springs.

Salvage yards for the sway bars.

Some parts stores have locks, otherwise a locksmith can set you up with new cylinders. A locksmith can re-key used cylinders also.

Hey Thesprocket26.....It worked out good. You have to drill out the rivets that hold the vent window seal in place. I could not find anything to replace them with so I used black weather stripping glue and some clamps. That worked out real good. The door closed really well before the new stripping. A little hard now, but it getting better. The windshield trim was a pain in the @#$%. I could have used about two more sets of hands on that part! But over all I am happy with the end results.

Once you get the trim in the rubber on the windsheild use masking tape to hold everything in place as you put the w/s in. The 5-6 short peices of masking tape all around the outside of the W/S hold the rubber/chrome trim peices to the glass while you install the W/S, that works alot better then two more sets of hands.

I found my sway bar at a local salvage, paid $7 for it. If you havan't already done the front disk brake swap, then that would be my first mod! if you go this route, get the entire front suspension and steering setup from a 73-79 with a swaybar already on it. this will kill several birds at one shot! you will have the front end apart, so get all new bushings (I suggest urithane pieces) and king pin set so you won't have to re-disassemble the front end. also get the power brake booster, and power steering. you will be very suprised at how easy it is to get such a worth while project done. I did mine over one weekend, but I was rushed and didn't take my time and enjoy myself doing it.

Dennis Carpenter has two different lock sets, one is japanese the other is OEM repops. you can also find all the weather stripping there, or LMC.

for springs, you should have a local suspension shop that can have your springs re-sprung for a decent price. and again, get new bushings while you have these apart.

I suggest taking your time on all of this and doing lots of research so you will feel you got the best bang for your buck. that, and clean and paint everything with high quality paints, so it looks good and you can brag about how easy it was to do.

good luck, take pics (and post them in your gallery for all to see), and above all have fun doing it!!!!

_Ken

While you are getting the front end parts try to get one with good king pins. If you check around you may luck out and find a good set, that will save you some grief and money/time.
