C1 = 1961
A = full size car

cant help on the rest.

there should be some other numbers on it some where. those will probally do you better in your search. I usually just take all the numbers I find and rund them through Google and see what pops up, get what I need that way 90% of the time.

It's from a 61 Ford car or Tbird( used on both) with a 390 w/Cruise-o-matic tranny.

The C1AE-AH is the tag number. It's all you will find on a Ford carb. That's what we use to look up carb parts. The Ford parts & acessories catalog states it's a Ford 4 barrell carb or a "shoebox carb" as they're also called. What I listed above is what it fits, right from the parts book.

Thanks alot Berry

I think I might put it on ebay. Saw some yahoo at the swap meet trying to sell one for $100.00..

I think I'll see what it raises.

THey are getting scarce, especially rebuildable ones. I've seen them go in that area of $100 . Easy carb to do, simpler than a Holley and not as fussy! I used to do them in my sleep in the early 70's when they were a dime a dozen.

Thanks Barry

I have rebuilt alot of Holley carbs and I have rebuilt this Motorcraft once. I was brought up around Holley carbs so they seem to go easy. one of the features I like about the Holley is the easy float adjustment. I could never get the Motorcraft from running rich always had a black exhaust pipe. Now I probably could have spent some time with it and got it right but like I said Holley carbs come easy to me.

Thanks again Barry

I guess it's all in what we've worked with. I always stayed with Ford carbs as I had acess (parts manager) to any parts I needed for my projects.

I probably would have kept it on if my older brother still worked for Ford. He was their top computer guy at a dealership in Lodi CA. He is also the best auto mechanic I have ever known. He opened his own shop way up north and it is just to far to drive for a rebuild.

Anyhow here I go again blahblahblah.

Thanks again Barry
