Need help solving rough idle problem.....
The egr is on the front pass side. It is mounted to the side of the throttle body and has a large pipe coming out of the bottom.
I have a 1986 f-150 4x4 w/ Lariat Pkg. When I start it in the morning, it runs and idles fine. But after driving just a short ways and allowing it to warm up, when I put it back into park, it idles rough (like around 200 rpm's), and wants to die. It also burns rich. Then when I put it back in gear it idles fine. Could this be the Park Idle Sensor? Or could it be the ignition module? I just started last month when it began to warm up in minnesota here. The 302 is efi, and I recently cleaned the throttle body and replaced the plugs. I don't really know what to make of this......any help would be greatly appreciated!! thanx!
I pulled the IAC wire, and the engine didn't shut down like it was suppose to. It just bogged down like it does after I drive it, and after about 3 sec. came back up to regular idle. So I'm going to replace that. I also need to clean my EGR valve I think, but don't know where it is. Is it to the left of the throttle body? I have the 302 efi. Also, where is the fuel pressure regulator. I think the diaphram may be ruptured. thanx for any help!

But the TPS was replaced last spring(1 year ago, right before I bought it). I guess it could be bad, but I pulled the EGR valve and cleaned it, and it runs good now. I am waiting on the IAC, and it should run mint then! IAC comes in tomorow. Hopefully I can get it sold then!!!!!! Thanx all!
