i have a 77 f100 2wd ive been seeking a lowering kit for my truck and cant find one anywhere i know there out there can anyone point me in the right direction
i know autozone carries dropped Ibeams, but they are pricey at around a grand or more........on my 76 F-150 2wd im dropping the rear by taking out the stock spring and putting a 3/4 ton spring in under the axle, putting it under the axle will give me a couple inches of drop and with the heavier spring i can still carry a load without bottoming out....i havent seen this done yet, but its a sound theory!
Stylin' Concepts had the best price I could find. They have everything you need from the dropped beams to a hanger/shackle kit. I think they offer a c-notch kit too.
2 companies to check ou are(STREETRODENGINEERING) & (fatmanfab) They offer ifs kits that will allow you to put a mustang 2 front end under your truck and a 6" drop
AIM industries offers drop I beams and rear flip kits and 4 link kits for your truck.
Be careful with DJM suspensions I had a friend that used thier "dream beams"
and had trouble with them, I guess because they were tubular.
I am in the process of putting together a 4 link rear suspension under my 79 F-100.
Good Luck, Mark
SwOKC....Don't pay a grand or more for drop beams!!!! Also when you flip the spring under the axle you have to notch the frame in order to have any decent amount of suspension travel. Also 3/4 ton springs are too wide to fit into a 1/2 ton hanger. I second the notion for watching out for DJM beams, I'm goin to use AIM beams on my truck. My two cents........

i hear ya on the drop beams, i cant afford that kind of coin, just a suggestion i threw out for other folks, as far as putting the spring under the axle, there is well over a foot between my axle and frame so i dont see any issues with clearance because it will only drop it by about 3 inches, plus i will be using 3/4 ton shackles as well so the width isnt a problem either....personally im just looking to even out the rear with the front, im actually lifting the front 1 inch because i have tire/fender clearance problems in front.....thanx for your input anyways, always nice to have an objective view.....
