Transmission Overheat
One of the trucks I own is a '95 powerstroke diesel, automatic (rebuilt at 90,000), with 170,000 miles on it. In a normal snowstorm the truck will plow 6-8 hrs. On occasion in the bigger storms it will run 24 hrs at a time. At times the trans. will overheat causing the front seal in the trans to expand and leak fluid. I have installed a very large trans. cooler with electric fan which didn't help at all. I have changed the fluid yearly. I'm going to pull the pan down again and change fluid and filter again.
Should I go to a better type of fluid?
Use a sealer and conditioner?
Any recomendations to extend the life of this thing.
