Hope someone can help. '90 F-150 w/300 six. Temp gauge quit working. All other gauges fine. Can anyone tell me where the sending unit is? Dealer couldn't tell me.
Thanks,
I have the same issue....i did a rebuild and installe the motor 5 years later! Is the sending unit in the upper rad neck? OR in the block? Haynes says nothing on locations. Thanks! Mines an '86.
I have the same problem. A guy at the garage didn't know, but I've heard that its on the RH side lower block. Its jsut been way to cold to try and climb under there and connect it. But I would love to know of a definite spot.
On a 96 the sender is located on passengers side of block towards fire wall can be gotten to by looking up wheel well . Has one wire connection. It is up high on the block
Finally had the chance to crawl under it. You guys were right. The sender is directly above the starter, high up on the block. Pulled the wire off and put a test light in the terminal and with key on got a dim light. At the same time the gauge started to move to the hot side. I feel pretty certain a sender will cure this problem. (already bought one) I think I'll remove the starter before changing it tho. Don't want get antifreeze in it.
