Ball mount

Ok I know this isn't a Ford and this is a Ford Forum but you guys may be able to help me. Ok I have a 01 Dodge Ram 1500 with the Offroad package then it also has a 3" Skyjacker Lift and 33" Mud tires well I wanted to tow my 5x8 utility trailer with 13" wheels I think and went to wal-mart to get a ball mount as it has the hitch but not a ball mount and I had just bought it so hadn't gotten one yet. Well I got the one with the biggest drop they had it was a 5 1/4 drop I think. Well anyway I had the trailer in the yard and the truck on the driveway and when hooking up the trialer it wouldn't hook on it was at such an angle it wouldn't go down on the ball I moved the trailer to the pavement so it would be at the same height on the ground as the truck it hooked on fine then. Well the front is up higher than the back. I would like to tow this trailer tomorrow. I don't know wheter to just use this ball mount or return it. I really think I need one a few inches longer but this was the bigest Wal-Mart had and Advance Auto Parts had an adjustable one that was double the price but went 1 inch lower but I don't think that is enough. Should I just use this one and strap stuff on so it wont fall off or will just hit the tail gate anyway or should I get one that drops down further? Where should I look for one that drops down further?

Check at a truck or RV place. Around here I get my stuff at the farm supply stores. Out by you I think they have Tractor Supply. You need to get to a place that is used to handling heavier vehicles than auto parts or wally's. I picked up a hitch with a 9" drop for use with my smaller trailers so they would tow level.

I use a 10" drop I bought from either JCW or Northern Tools.
