Floor Coverings

I am doing a resto on my 78 F100 custom. I want to go mostly original as it was my grandfathers first brand new truck. I have a couple of questions about the floor. The origional floor covering is a stuck on kinda plastic, or vinyl mat. I don't know if it can still be found anywhere. I serched a couple of parts websites but the only thing they had was carpet. I really don't want carpet. Secondly, from the time the truck was brand new, the passenger side floor was very cold. I allways had to have blankets wrapped around my legs in the winter (many frozen toes). Is there anything I can do about that? Thanks for any input.

Hi Sara,welcome to the site.

Unless to would rather buy from our sponsor's (would be a good thing)
You can order your rubber mat on April 29/30 at the Swap Meet at the centrium.

I'll meet & see you there ?

Cold ?

I bet the flip up door from the heater box (cold air vent) is broken (this always seem to happen) .

The alternative cause would be the Passenger door weather-stripping is leaking.

I can help you with practically anything

hey Dennis WE can help with anything, , right.

About the cold thing, it could be many things such as a gromet on the firewall that could have been left off from the factory or possibly the vent door was broke or somethin like that. Look under there and let us know what you find.

EDIT:

And also look at Jeff's Bronco Graveyard for the rubber floor covering if you need a new one. http://www.broncograveyard.com

another possablity on the cold floor,
there is a piece of plastic that goes onto the heater outlet that is held on
with a couple cheesy tin spring clips, sometimes people take it off as it allows more or ALL of the floor heat to blow on the driver. this is fine if you dont have passengers. but the poor fella, or lady that has to ride freezes to death.
could it be possible that yours is MIA? just a thought. welcome to FTE.

I'm in the process of changing the gas tank. what a chore on an old hunting truck. I dont think that there is as muchj straw and grass in the feilds as was on top of that tank. Ha Ha
