Noisy During Starting

My 95 F-150 5.0L has developed a serious problem. When I went to start the truck today at the local gas station, I turned the key and got nothing. I had power, just no starter engagement whatsoever.
When the starter finally did engage, I heard a bunch of "clicking" while the starter was turning over the engine. The engine was very sluggish but finally took off. The battery is not low either. It's a new battery and the truck has been starting fine.
When I got home, I shut the truck off and attempted to restart it again. The starter made an awful grinding sound and the engine was slow to turn over again. There was also some more clicking to it, like a connection or something was loose somewhere and maybe something was arcing out.
This is the first day this has happened and I had no indication that anything was amiss. I am wondering what the problem could be. With the loud grinding sound, I'm wondering if maybe the flywheel isn't cracked or something along those lines. Has anyone else had this problem with their 95 Ford? Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

Brian

Sounds like the starter is going bad,However first check and make sure all your connections are clean and tight and double check the battery.
