How to clean the EGR Valve?

Could some one tell me the steps to removing, and best practice for cleaning the EGR valve and then reinstalling? Thanks

Scrape off as much deposit as you can, then soak it in parts cleaner and use a soft metal brush to clean the rest. It's probably simpler to install a new one, though, especially if you got some caked on deposit.
