Any body miss Tool Time? I do especailly after Tim got off the Nomad/GM kick and brought the Mustang into the show. The flattie motor in the old Ford convert was real sweet! All in all it was a great show. Guess that in the end Tim wanted to go on to other projects. I still enjoy the reruns.
Well been awhile, but finally someone will reply to this, no thread withoput a reply eh.
Seriously, Home Improvement was the first time I saw/ heard of a Flattie, and loved'em since. The next time I remeber seeing one was a auction when I was about 12 I think. It was a old 2 ton Ford grain truck 48-50 stle and it had a 239 motor without a exhaust system.
And that truck only bought 1-200 dollars, only if I hada known....
Thanks for the reply, it`s from the days when the only replies to be had were your own...
According to the script it was Tim`s #1 son Brad that got Tim on to the Flattie.
Once Tim crushed the Nomad and got Fords in his show, including the Stang he was DA MAN!
well...i never was much of a tv'er but when fords are involved, my eyes open wide. watch the movie "black snake moan" a few fords in there, as well as *****...
I`ll have to watch "Black Snake Moan" soon, I`ve seen it in the listings and haven`t done so yet.
It sounds like it has all the things to be a good movie....
I liked ''Spencer For Hire'', he drove a real neat dark green 65 Stang fastback in that TV series.
i'll be looking for that "spence for hire" to watch. just seen a 67 GT500 roll out of a garage yesterday...sweet red one just finished reconstruction. a damn fine job done too!!!
Home Improvement was a great show. Was the blue hot rod a duece?
Everyone needs a fully stocked garage with a project vehicle in it.
As far as movies with FORDs- I was watching a movie with an 80's Bronco.
I think the movie was "OC" or something like that, it stared Jack Black.
Funny movie, and they tore up the highway with that old Bronco.
I`ve never seen any "Spence for Hire" reruns yet, too bad as it was a good show. Robert Ulrich (spelling?) from "Spence for Hire"was also in the TV series ''Vegas'' where he drove a red baby T-Bird.
Hawaii 5.0 with Jack Lord featured the late 60`s Mercury Marquis, sweet rides.
I had a magzine in about 95ish that had tim allen in it with a car.... I think it was an impala or it might have been a trans am... in real life he is a car nut ... like jay leno
ive read before or seen on TV that jay leno has a garage the size of an airplane hanger filled with cars he collects... even if none of my cars was worth over 10 grand I would love to have an airplane hanger to enjoy my collection in
I would have every generation of bronco and parts trucks galore... buy 4 of each as a parts truck and make 1 good truck out of them all...set up a downdraft booth and paint them myself
Your right laynrubber.
Tim was/is part owner of the Saleen racing team, now that is big.
He also had about a 68 Shellby GT 500 that was at a Barret-Jackson auction afew years back, I think it did sell. It had a hammer for a shifter which is kinda neat, the rest of the car looked great.
Tim Allen also had / has a silver colored fat fender Ford, there is a video around somewhere in internet land showing him getting on the loud pedal with that truck
