E4OD weird shifting
97 f350. No check engine light no flashing od light..Tranny started to act weird after towing 9000lb trailer for 600km. Didn't have overdrive the next day (towed in drive). Overdrive came back but would sometimes lose it on the highway. Since then tranny won't upshift (1-2) until I back off throttle and (2-3) is sluggish. Sometimes its a hard(1-2) at 3000rpm and sometimes it goes way past 3000rpm I let off and its a real slow shift. Some days everything works fine. If I manually shift its fine. Changed fluid and filter, MLPS, and TPS. Read something about a solenoid pack. Any suggestions?

what did the fluid look and smell like?
I toasted my 94 E4OD at about 50K way back when I towed a trailer 5,000#? but forgot to check ATF level. I had overheated the fluid and caused the seals to get brittle which sent trash into the fluid and caused torque shudder and intermittent harsh shifting.
There were no other symptoms or check lights of any kind. Just intermittant harsh shifting and torque shudder.
I had a rebuild after that.
If your fluid was anything but bright red or smelled burned, then you may have done the same thing as I did.
