duraspark swap, which dizzy?

duraspark swap, which dizzy?

Im gearing up to do a duraspark swap into a 73 f100 that has a points ignition, its a D0VE-A block 429, what dizzy should I ask the parts guy for?

a 78 or 79 or somewhere in there 460 will work I suppose right?

other than that, I think Ive got all the info ready to start gathering parts

I think the 351M/400 has the same dizzy and if so just buy one from a truck or car that had the electronic set up. Just buy a module with a blue tab and you will be good to go.

351c, 351m, 400, 429, 460 all use the same distributor. 351w will fit also but you will have to change the gear.

I recurve the durasparks in my business and use the dizzy ordered for a 75 elite midsize.

It is very important the the distributor is curved to the application. The remanned dizzys are good but the advance curve varies a bunch.

hey very cool Article, thanks Scott, I bookmarked it.

I bought one for a 79 F250 with a 460 in it thinking it would be curved for a big heavy truck, we'll see.
