blinker & flasher problem
i have a new to me 97 f-150 4.2l. sometimes the blinker does not work & just makes a buzzing noise. when i retry it it usually starts working. when i try the emergency flashers sometimes just the right side works.do you guys think i can take the steering column apart & clean the switches to fix this problem or are new parts required?

Possibly the Multifunction switch, which is the turnsignal switch, and or the flasher relay. I have changed both on my 99. The relay at least 3 times, dealer warrantied it once, new defective part, only afew months old. Multifunction switch can do strange things when it goes bad.

In the cold weather, my blinker acts up. It comes on, I can hear it clicking faster than it should, no arrow on the dash. After temps in the cab warm up a bit it seems fine. I guessed this was just a flasher module, and planned to replace it this weekend.
