i am trying to figure out how to remove the shifter i have an 85 f150
i6 and am having tranny trouble acts like it is not going in gear any help would be great thanks
If you have a mat or carpet you will have to pull it back and on the tranny tunnel remove the screws that hold the shift boot to the floor under that is the tranny remove the bolts holding the shifter flange to the tranny then lift the shifter out.
97F150: that only applies to a M5OD, most of the older 4 speeds have a screw or lock setup on the shifter itself.
