My power door locks quit working the other day. I checked the fuse and thats fine. I can hear a clicking under the dash, like a relay or something, but I cannot find anything about this. Anyone ever have this happen? I have a F250 SD 7.3L Crew cab.
Thanks
Jim
Sounds like the actuators in the doors have gone bad. Mine did the same thing except it got progressively worse and worse. The door locks would take a few clicks to finally lock/unlock, then it eventually stopped all together.
does it have a aftermarket alarm system? could possably be the relays that are added
to lock and unlock the doors. mine are located under the dash right above the steering colum next to the fire wall. one is on a pink/green wire and the other is on a pink/yellow wire. one does lock, and the other does unlock. does it work one way but not the other?
Seems odd that both door actuators would die simultaneously. A stupid question, but are you shure you're looking at the right fuse? It sounds more probable that the relays you're hearing aren't getting any power to drive the actuators with.

Yes, I think I am looking at the right fuse, a while back it blew and I had to repalce it, and I also looked it up. I did read somewhere that the cold causes the actuators to bind up...and it was really cold when they quit working. Perhaps I will take the door apart and check them
It's certainly possible that weather has taken a toll, but I'd think that would only be temporary. It's interesting that you stated the fuse blew before. I'm wondering if the contacts on the relays are still good. At any rate, if you pull the door panels, you'll be able to tell pretty quickly if power is making it to the actuators. If not, I'd locate those relays and have a look to 1) make sure that they are getting power to switch to the actuators and 2) make sure that they are successfully switching the power.
Mine both failed within weeks of one another, but they died a slow and painful death. I actually went a month before they quit all together. At any rate, it sounds like jrisebo is dealing with a different issue since his quit working entirely (not to mention immediately), sounds like a lack of power to the actuators.
