I have an 89 ford Bronco II. It is 4WD and is push button engage (shift on the fly). I had to replace the front rotors which was easy. but reassembling the plastic cam assembly is not going well.
Is there a tool to put the cam asssembly back onto the wheel bearing adjusting nut ? I have lined up the keyway and etc but i cant get it to push back on. if i put it back into the hub and line it up it will go right on because the hub expands the cam assembly.... any ideas ?
the book says to just push it back on.(ha ha) i would like to see someone just push it on. the easiest way that i have found is to find a deep well 1 1/8" socket, place the cam on the way that it goes, set the socket against the cam, then use a long pipe about 3/4" diameter x 2 to 3 feet long. drive the bar into the ground a little, hold your foot against it, and push with all of your might. good luck!!
