Recalls

I just purchased a 2002 Escape this month and I know there was a recall for the accelerator cable. My question is...I'm not sure if the previous owner had it replaced or not. Can I call any dealer to find out if it was replaced? Is there a website I can search?<O

Check with your dealer, they can run an OASIS report on it.

You can register with them so that they have your details and can contact you directly re any future recalls ( that's what they told me, anyway).

There was also a recall #1904D to reflash the powertrain control module that covered the 2002s.

My dealer put a sticky under the hood and wrote the recall and date on the sticky. Might be the same in your case.
