Intermittent A/T Slipping
I get a very infrequent transmission slip on my Eddie Bauer '97. It occurs about once every 20-25 trips and only once when it does. Other than that, the fluid level and quality are fine, I know it's Mercon V fluid, and it shifts wonderfully.
Does anyone know if an intermittent slip of this nature is more likely due to one root cause than another, from a symptomatic standpoint. If it happens so infrequently, will a shop even be able to diagnose it if they are unlikely to replicate it during a road test. Should I wait to see if it increases in frequency before taking it in or do I risk additional damage to the tranny?
Any help/guideance would be appreciated.
