Will 400 pistons work?

I was wondering if anybody knows if 400 pistons will fit in the big 6. They have the same bore and wrist-pin diameter. But is the compression height compatible? What I'm hoping to achieve is higher compression from a flat top or small domed 400 piston.

usually people go for 352FE or 351W pistons when they get creative.
you will need to use early 300 rods that have the small wrist pin bore

TRW forged pistons for 351w's have solid domes that can be milled down

I built my 300 using 360 FE pistons. The comp. distance was correct and the wrist pin matches up on the later rods. Using a standard bore you end up at .050 over, I actually went .030's and ended up with .080 over but I had an early truck block with some pretty thick cylinder walls. Some of the later blocks my not have enough in them for that much overbore. I think the 400 pistons will not work due to the comp distance.

You guys are talking about early blocks. How early is early. What I've got is an '83 F100 with a 300.
