Ok, I have a 99 f150 4x4 supercab 5.4l v8, I just moved a few months ago to washington and there are a lot of winding roads and my fiance' drives my truck a lot now and I dont want anything to happen to her or the truck and when going into turns it doesn't handle as good as it used to, I will be getting new shocks soon and hope that helps but I was wondering if getting a new stablizer bar would also improve handling? if so any recomendatins on what I should get? dont want to spend a lot of money. Thanks
To improve handling, add a sway bar to the rear. Stiffening the front bar will increase understear, while adding or stiffening the rear bar will take away some of the understeer.
Or for you NASCAR fans....stiffening the front bar will make it tight, stiffening the rear will make it loose.
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car, oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear
Have you checked out the front end to make sure there aren't any worn or loose parts? The alignment is good? Tires are good?
