However, Saturday, I needed to move my dead Mercury Tracer off the street, in anticipation of the snow. I used my truck to nudge it into the yard, with my 12 year old steering and braking. I ended up getting the truck's license tag holder caught on the tracer's, ripped mine off.
Also, I noticed that the plastic part of the bumper came off right by the driver's side wheel well (not ugly, gives it character, but still I'm not pleased). Looks like the plastic ripped.
I'm guessing it will make sense to replace the plastic piece. What am I looking at, in terms of cost for the plastic replacement vs. a metal one? Is the metal one feasible with my truck?
Wasn't sure if you were talking about the valance or the pad on top of the bumper. You can get a factory replacement for under 100 shipped. OR if your into modding, there are several companies that make some great looking air dams. I've seen some metal ones for the 97-98s, but not the 99-up.
