Crossmember questions...
I have 5 80s F150s and an 83 and 85 F350 with 6.9 Diesels, all are 2 wheel drive.
The 85 F350s 6.9 motor is bad and I am removing it and the C6 hooked up to it. I'm installing a 300-6 with a Clifford shorty header and 2 barrel carb. The easiest swap would be to install a C6 behind the 300 as all the C6 trannies I have are the same length (I know the 6.9s C6 has a different bell mounting pattern). For more power and economy, I am considering installing either a T19 or T18 behind the 300. One of my parts trucks is an 82 F150 2 wheel drive 351w, Np435 (it has a brand new clutch behind the bad motor). I know the front end of all the 4 speeds are the same (T18,T19, Np435, SMOD overdrive) so they can interchange. What I'm wondering is if the tranny crossmember from that 82 would bolt into my 85 F350s frame to mount either a T18 or T19.
