What size wheels
for BFG 33's on a 1999 F-350 Superduty with leveling kit. 8, 9, or 10"? What affect do the different size wheels have on the tires?
I may go to 35's in the future.

I've seen stock superduty wheels with 305's (33's) on them. Wear quality, width, and height all play factors. In most cases a manufacturer will recommend a 10" wheel with a 12.50 wide tire. They try to match the wheel width to the tread width. With a 10" wheel, you get the width and the stability, a more "low and flat" stance along with more stress on the bearings. With an 8" wheel, you have a slightly taller, more round tire stance, due to the tire being stretched on the wheel more. But it won't be as wide, and have less stress on the bearings. When a 12.50 tire is on a 10" wide wheel, it will be more like 13.00" wide. Because a tire on a narrower wheel won't be as wide, there's less clearance issues. You'll most likely get better wear out of the wider wheel because it will have a flatter stance, plus you can run them at full psi without worry of wearing too much in the center. With a narrower wheel, you may have to run lower pressures to make the tread flatter. It depends.
It's pretty much personal choice. There's not one way better than another.

Go to BFG's website, www.bfgoodrichtires.com, look up the particular model tire you are interested in, click 'specs', find the tire size you are interested in, and there you will find BFG's recommended rim width for that tire.
As a general guideline, wheel width should be about 75% of the tire width.
