I recently bought a 1984 F-150 with a 460, 4 speed transmission, edelbrock hedders, rancho shocks, all on 39in mickey thompson baja belted tires. The f150 is a light duty truck and i'm wondering if it's got to put muscle for it's own good. I'm not sure how much power it has but if anyone has the same engine in a truck 82-86 i'd appreciate if u told me the specs. I've already told myself that i'm not going to drive it till it's perfect so intend on raising it, storing the tires, raising the chassis, sanding all the rust off, getting insulation for the passengers side window, painting it, and doing other minor things (mirrors, shifter) So give me your opinion is a 460 too big for the '84 f150?
Thanks
Dave
If your not worried about milage go for it. I would if i had the money to do the swap. You WILL enjoy the power.
I never new there waas a thing as to much power.
