Ok, so this is about the truck in my sig. It will not idle when it's cold out. The choke is adjusted corectly. Also when I am going down the road and using little bit of throttle or go to pull out from a stop it wants to stall like its not getting enough fuel. now once it's over 2000rpm it runs great. lots of get up and go. It barley wants to idle at 700rpm in gear. How can you tell if it's the carb or maybe a different cam. Also if I replace the carb with a Q-Jet what would I look for as far as bolt on. I know I have to get an adaptor plate but what else do I need to do as far as linkage goes. Is it possible that the accelerator pump is blown? Thanks, Dave
It is an elect. choke and it is an HO. I got a # off the back 3310. Looked it up and it seems to be a 7504v. What engine size would I look for for a Q-jet. Thinking 350 maybe. I have always like the tuneability of the q-jet and I definatley wouldn't mind saving a few bucks. As far as the adapter plate goes A-zone has it for 15.00 so thats not a problem. The only question I have is making the linkage work. Thanks for the help guys, Dave
i had the same problem with my 87 351w bronco when it was cold it would run like crap but after it warmed up it ran fine. I endeded up putting a edelbrock on and it cured the problem. Is your carb the stock one or a stock replacement. the other thing with the spacer/adapter is a little to narrow to mate to the intake with out it leaking. I tryed two differant ones and same problem.
