Welcome. I don't know if it is as easy as splicing into an existing wire to make the tach work. I wanted to get one installed on my 2000 F150 4.6 but was told that it is not a straight forward install. According to the shop I asked they would have to use a special wiring harness that ran to each COP. Of course this would require extra $$$ that I just wasn't ready to let go of just yet, so I let go of the idea of a tach instead. I'm not sure about the V6. Anything is possible. I'm sure that someone on the Forum can answer your question though. Hope you enoy the site.

Thanks for the info, I think I am going to get a repair manual for my truck (if I can find one that new) and use that as my guide to installing my tach.
